Sefton SEN and Inclusion Service is here to support children, families and schools to make sure children and young people with a special educational need or disability get the support they need across education, health, social life and more.
Our teams include
- Autism Team who provide advice and support to mainstream schools to enable the effective inclusion of autistic children and young people and those with an autistic profile of need.
- Complex Needs Team who help staff in Sefton schools and settings to facilitate the inclusion and academic progress of children and young people with physical and/or medical complex needs.
- Complimentary Education Service who support the continuing education of children of statutory school age who unable to attend school for medical reasons.
- The Educational Psychology Team who focus on the learning and well-being of children and young people in educational and early years’ settings. They work with schools to provide support for individuals or groups who face challenges in relation to learning, social and emotional development and other complex needs.
- The Hearing/Visual Needs Team who facilitate the inclusion and academic progress of children and young people with hearing/visual needs through direct teaching and support to schools, settings and parents.
- The Inclusion Consultants work with SENCOs to embed whole school good practice in the world of SEN support and teaching across our schools and also support pupil transition.
