People in Sefton have until the end of January to give the Council their feedback on its TECS (Technology Enabled Care Solutions).

TECS equipment

Sefton Council provides a range of TECS equipment to help people with disabilities and mobility needs.

TECS includes technologies such as phone apps and smart home adaptations, including furniture sensors to prevent falls and detect floods in the home. It also covers smartphone applications like HIVE and smart plugs and those which provide users with prompts to take their medication.

Thousands of people across Sefton have been supplied by the Council with TECS equipment to helps them stay independent and living in their own homes. Now Sefton Council wants to find out how what people think of the service so that it can make it even better.

A new survey asks people if the know about TECs and the products available. It also asks how people are using TECS and what may be preventing them from using the service.

Living independently and safely

Cllr Ian Moncur, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Health, said: “TECS is an important way that the Council can provide support for people that means they can continue living independently and safely in their own homes.

“Thousands of people across the Borough are already using TECS for a wide range of tasks, but we want to make sure we are providing the best service possible.

“We want to hear from people’s so that we can make improvements to the service based on what they tell us.”

People have until Friday 31^st January to complete the survey.
