Over 25 attend Sefton business start up event

Over 25 budding entrepreneurs attended an event aimed at helping Sefton residents explore the possibility of starting their own business.
InvestSefton have commissioned Sefton based providers Merseyside Expanding Horizons and Safe Regeneration to provide support to Sefton residents who are interested in starting their own business.
The fully-funded support can help with any aspect of starting your own business.
Networking opportunity
Those who attended Wednesday’s event had the opportunity to meet the teams, hear about the support on offer and also, meet other entrepreneurs and hear inspirational stories of when they started their own businesses.
Wednesday’s event was the first of two launch sessions for Sefton’s new business start-up support programme. It was held at the new co working space ‘Werksy’ on Southport’s West Street.
As well as an introduction to the programme from Merseyside Expanding Horizons and Safe Regeneration, Julie Swarbrick from InvestSefton also gave an introduction to InvestSefton and the business support on offer.
John Roberts, the new High Sheriff of Merseyside talked about the importance of local enterprise and encouraging as many Sefton residents as possible to start a new business with the support of the start-up programme.
Future events
A second launch event will be held between 5pm and 7pm at the Lock & Quay Community Pub on Irlam Road in Bootle on Tuesday 26th March.
