Sefton residents are being invited to take part in a special British Sign Language tour of Gillmoss Recycling Discovery Centre.
The announcement from Veolia’s education team has been made as part of Deaf Awareness Week, which runs from Monday 6th to Sunday 12th May.
Tickets are available now for the tour, which takes place on Wednesday 29th May from 2.30pm. Visitors will be able to see what can and can’t be recycled in the City Region and learn more about what happens behind the scenes to their waste after it has been collected.
Residents across Merseyside are invited to the special event for free, but booking is essential. Free tickets can be booked on the Veolia website.
Steve Mitchell, Regional Director at Veolia said: “After the success of our first British Sign Language tour in 2023, we’re delighted to host another event in 2024.
“Our BSL tour ensures that all visitors can experience the journey of recycling and get their questions answered. This event is part of the wider education programme which has been working towards enhanced accessibility and inclusivity for all of the community.”
