Consultation Feedback

A public consultation was held on the proposed improvements to the Norwood Mitigation area following the proposed opening of Foul Lane part of the Southport Eastern Access Scheme. The wider public consultation went live 18th of June (18/07/2024) and closed on the 15th of August (15/08/2024).

The Norwood Area Mitigation scheme is designed to complement the Southport Eastern Access Improvement scheme that covers Eastbank Street / Bridge Street to Kew Roundabout, and also connects to Foul Lane and Meols Cop Station.

The Norwood Area Mitigation scheme has been grouped into the following areas where we will improve junctions, the quality of footways, crossings and cycle lanes and, in some places, change waiting and loading restrictions. The groups areas are listed below:

  • Norwood Avenue
  • Bispham Road
  • Old Park Lane
  • Canning Road
  • Cobden Road
  • Wennington Road
  • Area wide measures

We asked for comments of the proposed improvements. Letters were sent out to 5,142 addresses in the local area to the red line boundary of the scheme, inviting those to take part in the online consultation. Online marketing was also published on the Sefton Council website.

The consultation results will be used to inform the final stages of the scheme as the Council moves towards confirming the final designs.

Findings of the consultation

Sefton Council are still to release the findings of this consultation.

Please come back at a later date.
